1977年生,北京协和医学院内科学博士,副教授,硕导。主要研究方向:卒中神经保护及药物临床前评价。

刘向荣先后在美国匹兹堡大学医学中心和杜克大学医学院接收科研训练,主要从事卒中机制研究并探索新的神经保护药物。先后主持国家级课题3项,省部级课题2项。在Stroke等杂志发表英文论文34篇,核心期刊论文24篇。

现任中国老年学学会老年医学委员会青年委员会副主任委员,中华预防医学会老年病预防专业委员会委员,中国老年医学学会脑血管病分会青年委员,北京神经内科学会专业委员会委员,国家自然科学基金通讯评审专家。2017年获得由美国心脏学会和中风学会联合颁发的“卒中进步与创新奖”。
